New, Redesigned Alberti Disk Sander
NOW AVAILABLE
Alberti Hand Powered Disk Sanders were first developed for violin and bowmakers to facilitate the shaping and fitting of small precision parts of wood, metal, shell and plastic. These sanders are also great for sharpening and honing knives, plane blades, gouges and chisels. In our machine shop we use them for sharpening cutting tools and hand flat lapping of small parts.
New Alberti Frog Slide Fixture
NOW AVAILABLE
This tool will enable the production of a perfectly fitted frog slide in a few minutes. Used with the Alberti Sander, it is settable for any exact dovetail angle and transfers the taper of the slide directly from the frog. Very little training is necessary to complete this operation with perfect results.
Alberti Cello Endpins
Alberti Design first produced violin-making tools in the early 1980s to fill the needs of a few professional makers and restorationists who were frustrated by the lack of precise, durable, and easily adjustable tuning-peg shapers. We now design and prototype a variety of tools that make the work of professionals much more productive, and difficult tasks attempted by the inexperienced possible.
Our tools are used daily in the workshop of Robert Cauer and by many other fine restoration shops, violin makers, and bow makers. More prototype tools are being tested in these workshops and will be added to our line as they are perfected and proven in use.
Our cello endpins follow the same objectives as our tools, and address both the deficiencies in existing endpin design and the need for a more efficient fitting system for the workshop. Having over thirty years experience in prototype work, design, model-making, and small-scale manufacturing, we are tool users as well as tool makers, and we stand firmly behind the quality and utility of everything we produce.
